Victorian Photo Album Filled with Tintypes, Photos, and Carte de Visite
This is a small but amazing snapshot into the past. Judging from the clothing and photography style and production, these photos span from the late 1860s to the early 1920s. Many pages have pencil-written names at the bottom and some have the last name Wood, as does one of the photography studios. The photos are not in chronological order and I do not know if this was collected by a family or by a photography collector.
Photography studio names visible on the backs of exposed photos:

- Houghton and Gilmore — Brattleboro, VT
- A. W. Wood — St. Louis, MO
- Slagle — Washington, DC
50-page album with 23 photos (real photo postcards or Carte de Visite on paper) and 17 tintypes. Tintypes were invented in France in 1853 and patented in America in 1856.

5 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" thick
Condition
Album is in very good condition with only minor wear to edges. Two clasps work well, keeping the album flat. Pages have some discoloration mainly where people have touched the edges to turn the pages. Gold gilt edges are very good. A nice, cared-for album.
