Bronze Fish with Big Mouth Ashtray Trinket Dish Attributed to Walter Bosse
A sculptural piece with a sense of humor — this bronze fish with its wide-open mouth was made to hold cigarette ash, but works just as well as a trinket dish or a conversation-starting shelf object. Attributed to Austrian artist and metal craftsman Walter Bosse, circa 1960s.
The piece has a warm gold and patina-green finish that reads as both mid-century and timeless. Unsigned, as is typical of Bosse's production work.
