Published by The Print Club of Philadelphia and printed by Janus Press in 1961, this charming folio contains eight woodblocks of animals cut by Helen Siegl, with text selected by John Burton. Each one suitable for framing. Limited edition of 200.
Helen Siegl was an Austrian-born print maker who spent most of her life in the U.S., but her aesthetic creed was forged by her experiences in her home city of Vienna during World War II. She won recognition for her illustrations of everything from Aesop's Fables and Mother Goose to Turkish and Nigerian folktales.

Condition
Cover page and Rhino plate are toned, other plates are in very good condition with minor toning at perimeters and one with old mounting gum. Stiff paper folio is also very good.
